Trio Smiles!
Trio Smiles! Is the name of the Latin Jazz, Brazilian trio formed in
2003 by Stelios Papazoglou on guitar, Andreas Rodosthenous on electric bass and
Rodos Panagiotou on drums. It was in Rotterdam (the Netherlands) that Stelios,
Andreas and Rodos met and started playing together. Rodos and Andreas used to
play together for many years before,
since they are both from Limassol, Cyprus. Stelios is from Kavala,
Greece. All three of them studied jazz and Latin music in the Rotterdam's
Conservatory where they could play among other kinds of music, jazz, Brazilian,
salsa and Latin jazz.
Trio Smiles! Played in Rotterdam, among other places, in the Doelen,
the Dizzy Jazz café, the Zuid Plein (south area) theater and also in the
Haag in the Pater latin bar and in Amsterdam in different places.
The
music they make together travels beyond geographical barriers, and takes the
people with them into their musical common language.
