Stelios Xydias was born in September 23, 1985  in Limassol Cyprus. At age 14 he got interested in playing the drums. For the first years he was self-taught until he decided to take privet lessons to help him go deeper in drumming. After playing with several amateur bands, in 2003 he joined the army and was accepted in the military band. During the military service he started playing with the professional musicians of the island. In 2005 he got dismissed from the army and start preparing for his music studies. A year later he was accepted in Rotterdam Conservatorium in the Netherlands.
During his studies he took part in several projects and bands inside and outside the conservatory. He played in different international stages like Vortex jazz club(London), Bij 5 jazz podium(Rotterdam),Rialto theater(limassol) , dizzy jazz club(Rotterdam), Krakow jazz festival(Poland), Kostas Kouvidis international jazz meeting(Creta), Paradise jazz festival(Pomos) , Kypria festival(Cyprus tour),  north sea round town jazz and more.
At the moment he is a senior at the Rotterdam conservatory of music graduating this summer.
